During my Masters I thought it would be a good idea to try and develop a 3D environment to get a better understanding of how a level is built up from early concepts. This block out however was a much bigger task than I thought it would be. Firstly, this entire environment is constructed using 3DS Max, which for an environment on this scale (2km corner to corner, or 10Km following a path). Second, is that this entire environment chugged on the PC's I was using in Uni, mainly because of the scale and Meter by Meter texturing. My plan for the environment was to decorate it with hand painted textures and visuals displaying character abilities & movement. I'll someday get back into the enviornment, but this time with UE4 open to handle most of the environment.
