Although it started as a side project, K.I.T quickly became one of my favorite characters to concept. During Yr 3 I felt like I needed to design something more mechanical. An idea I often thought about of whist playing some adventure games ("Research") was.... why hasn't there been a game where the third person character had a personality of its own? With this inspiration, the idea for K.I.T came to life. I explored a more modular approach with this design as I felt that if the locals of the world had drones of their own, they would reflect themselves into the appearance of their individual drone. This thought had so many possibilities, and so I began thinking about more about customization during the colour exploration stages of my project. This direction later went onto influence the colour work of my other character as I needed some consistency within each of the characters colour pallets so they could to be seen as a pair. An enjoyable project from beginning to end.
